All your around but actually the best period to visit lake Como is from mid March to end October
From Malpensa airport you will have to take a bus or a train to central Milan and from there a train to Como OR we can provide transportation for you (and your bike box) with our Van for 75 Euro total for up to 8 people. So, 150 Euro for pick-up and drop-off
Because we live in lake Como and we know perfectly the area and the best places to ride to avoid possible traffic enjoying great sceneries without the hassle of stopping all the time to look at a map
We are in the foothills of the Alps so THERE ARE some hills ... but we normally ride also along lake Lugano in Switzerland (just across the border) where you can have a wonderful flat, scenic ride. Most cyclists that visit lake Como wish to climb the Madonna del Ghisallo
No, don't worry. There are some easy, flat riding along lake Lugano shores very close to where Cadel (Evans) lives
Nicole at lcc@lakecomocycling.com can help you anytime with your accomodation. Please feel free to contact her. We work a lot with Albergo Centrale in Cernobbio www.albergo-centrale.com/
where we get a special rate that we pass directly to our clients ...
We have a fleet of 30 good quality road bikes. We deliver the bikes free of charge to your Hotel (only in the area of Como ... for Bellagio/Varenna/Menaggio we ask a delivery and pick-up extra fee) and we supply a repair kit and a floor pump (for rentals of more than 1 day). You can view our fleet on the website under "bikes for rent". We strongly recommend an advance reservation since bike hire in Summer is very popular and we are the only ones in the area to rent road bikes
Yes, pedals, shoes and your own helmet. We do have pedal wrenches and tools to adjust the seat
We normally stop at a Bar for a caffé macchiato or a cappuccino along the way. A warmed up panino is also very good ...
A visit to Bellagio by battello (boat) is a must. Villa Balbianello in Lenno and Villa Carlotta's botanic garden are very popular among tourists
It depends ... most of the times you will be the only rider, but we try to limit the group to max 6 riders anyway
Just send an e-mail to lcc@lakecomocycling.com with your request. The deposit for a bike-rental or a guided-ride varies but it's normally 50 or 100 Euro depending on the length of your stay.
The deposit for our main Tours (like "Tour of Northern Lakes" or "Dolomites Tour", "Tour de France" etc ...) normally is 750 Euro and the balance 60 days prior the trip
